Video: Lágbájá – Bling Bling Panda

Lágbájá needs no introduction on any grounds, musically in Nigeria. His longevity is a testament to the efficacy of good music. Since his 1993 debut, he’s garnered a cult following of ‘Africano’ enthusiasts. In his dual disc offering (Paradise & Sharp Sharp), he’s waxed somewhat satirical from his Politically conscious forte of his We Before Me days.

Panda /kpanda/ is a Yoruba word for Brass or substandard gold if you will. Bling bling Kpanda takes shots at people who feel the need to keep up with the Bling phenomenon.

Definitely a fun video to watch.

Enjoy.

For 'Temple Grandin,' a night to shine

HBO's critically acclaimed "Temple Grandin" told the remarkable real-life story of the bestselling author and groundbreaking agricultural scientist who struggled early in life to learn to cope with autism before the disease was widely known.
On Sunday, the biopic, which had to overcome what was widely perceived in the industry as challenging subject matter to make its way to the screen, claimed five Emmy prizes, including outstanding made for TV movie.
Attired in red and black rodeo gear, Grandin herself became a palpable presence at the ceremony, at one point, rising and excitedly swinging her hand lasso style from the audience. And while standing on stage after the movie had won its top award, she warmly embraced a sobbing executive producer Emily Gerson Saines, who said she found inspiration in Grandin's life story as her own child had been diagnosed with autism.
"I hope this movie is going to educate a lot of people about autism because there's a lot of people who don't understand it," Grandin said backstage. "Somebody [with autism] might be a Silicon Valley genius, and somebody might be handicapped and non-verbal."

Oeming & Segovia Rearm Marvel's God of War

Amatsu-Mikaboshi, the Japanese god of Chaos and Darkness,

is one of the most dangerous entities in the Marvel Universe. No one knows this more than the Olympian God of War, Ares. In the 2006 "Ares" miniseries by writer Michael Avon Oeming and artist Travel Foreman, Mikaboshi's demonic forces kidnapped Ares' young son, Alexander, and used him as a pawn in a scheme to annihilate the Olympian pantheon of Gods. Ares and his brother Hercules foiled the dark god's plot, but not before he murdered their father Zeus.

Later, when the alien Skrull Empire invaded Earth, they didn't want to simply conquer the people of the planet: they wanted to defeat the divine beings associated with it as well. A "God Squad" was assembled in order to take down the Skrulls' two deities and their army of slave gods created from the various cultures they had conquered. Hercules was placed in charge of the group and, much to his chagrin, Mikaboshi was also made a part of the squad. The God Squad was successful, the Skrull deities were destroyed, but Mikaboshi was left behind in the Skrull Gods' dimension. He took advantage of the opportunity to take control of the fallen deities' army and since then, he and his forces have been growing more powerful, rampaging across galaxies and realities and enslaving more alien gods.

This October, the"Chaos War" event storyline begins when Mikaboshi, now calling himself the Chaos King, and his army arrive on Earth. Once here, they'll prepare for their endgame - the destruction of all reality. Ares, the Greek god of war, won't sit idly by and let that happen. Though he may have recently been murdered by the Sentry during "Siege," being dead isn't going to prevent him from wading full-on into the Chaos War in the November one-shot "Chaos War: Ares" by Oeming and artist Stephen Segovia. We spoke with the creators and their editor Mark Paniccia about the project.

Hollywood Actor Corey Haim Had Died From A Suspected Overdose Read more: http://www.currentblips.com/2010/08/hollywood-actor-corey-haim-had-died.html#ixzz0y55hn63B

Haim's mother had to witness him "shake in all directions," eyes rolling back in his head, before he became unresponsive. She then performed CPR until paramedics arrived, Judy told authorities.showed evidence of eight drugs, including marijuana and cold medicine, in his system the drugs did not play a role in Haim's demise, according to coroner spokesman Craig Harvey.

The show was cancelled during its second season. Feldman reportedly refused to continue working with Haim until he sought help for his drug problem.I would love nothing more than to be by her side at Corey's funeral, however, due to their strong religious beliefs and need for privacy, the family has decided to make Corey's funeral on Tuesday a small private affair.

Haim went to rehab and said he was sober and ready to work again, even taking out an ad in Variety magazine saying as much. They did find ibuprofen and prescription medications such as a generic version of Valium. The autopsy noted that Haim had been in and out of rehab for prescription drug use.Investigators recovered several bottles of prescription medications, mostly empty, from his bedroom.
